A demure depiction of the Kākāpō can't help on a hushed pink background. What a rare bird indeed. Also know as the Owl Parrot this guy is a large, flightless, ground dwelling Parrot endemic to New Zealand and wait for it, lives for 40 -80 years! Of course these facts mean they face a tough time against introduced nasties. As of writing, there are only 199 alive today. A concerted recovery effort is underway but gee what a challenge it is.
